Going Western After Three Years of English

We don't own any Western tack. Ohio Rocks/Buddy hasn't been ridden Western in over three years. We asked our friend, Cody (high school student), if she would ride him Western. She's never been on him before but hopped up on him at the schooling show and demonstrated what he could do as an out-of-practice (possibly confused) Western horse. Pay no attention to the announcements as they are for a class that's in the ring, not what our horse is doing.

Side Passes and Turns on the Haunches

Ohio Rocks can do leg yields and turns on the forehand with my daughter in English tack. Here's a video of Cody, who's never ridden him before, doing side passes and what English riders would call turns on the haunches. The horse is slightly confused -- it's been three years -- but he can do it. With some practice he'd do it with pizazz -- like he does everything.
